The 3 Network has a pathetic network coverage which only exists within some capital cities within Australia. If you plan to travel within Australia and outside major areas, a mobile phone on the 3 network will be completely useless to you. If you plan to use a mobile phone or internet services on the 3 network and you never venture outside capital cities, you will find the coverage works just fine.

Three's mobile coverage network only covers the city areas of Melbourne-Geelong, Brisbane-Gold Coast, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra & Perth. So basically, if you have good network reception, you are in a capital city. If you want to drive in any direction for a couple of hours, your phone will be rendered useless.
